Mrs. Norma Ann Barrino Jackson was born on July 28, 1960 in Union County, NC Tom Sanders and Odessa Huntley Barrino. She received her wings from our Heavenly Father on February 11, 2021 at Atrium Health Union County, surrounded by her husband and son. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tom Sanders and Odessa Huntley Barrino; stepfather, Granger Barrino; and Grandmother, Mittie Huntley of Cleveland, OH.
Norma was educated in Union County Public School System and graduated in the Class of 1979 from Forest Hills High School in Wingate, NC.
Norma was united in Holy matrimony to Willie James Jackson for 23 years. Norma, affectionately known as “Ann,” gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of Mt. Calvary African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church where she served on the Usher Board and loved singing on the Women's and Mass Choirs.
Norma was a very outspoken person, she enjoyed being pampered, attending family functions, traveling, fishing, shopping, planting flowers, and yard selling with family and friends. Christmas was her favorite holiday!
Norma was employed as a bus monitor with the Union County Public School System. She enjoyed working with the children and will be deeply missed by her family and community.
Norma leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Willie J. Jackson of the home; son, Rico (Larisha) Barrino of Marshville, NC; stepson, James (Heather) Huntley of Monroe, NC; granddaughter, Recola Barrino of Charlotte, NC; grandsons: Rico P. Brrino and Montez T. Barrino of Morganton, NC, Isaiah D. Barrino of Raleigh, NC, Anthony Watts, Jr. and Monei Shalmond of Marshville, NC, Jamal Huntley of Charlotte, NC, Aedin and Kaison Lawrence of Marshville, NC; two sisters: Alice Evon Chambers of Marshville, NC, Vanessa (Boyce) McClendon of Monroe, NC; two brothers: Calvin (Angela) Barrino Kearny of New Jersey and Johnny Barrino of Monroe, NC; two devoted aunts: Rachel Taylor of Cleveland, OH, Minnie Applewhite of Detroit, Michigan and a host of other relatives and friends.
