Robert Lee Bennette was born on January 1, 1963 to Charlie Robert Bennett and Marylean Staton in Monroe, North Carolina.
Robert was affectionately known by family and friends as “Rock.” He received his formal education at Forest Hills High School in Wingate, North Carolina.
He was employed at Pilgrim's Pride as a cutter until his health started to decline. In his leisure, he enjoyed and loved to be around his family and friends.
Robert Lee Bennett departed this life on January 20, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Bennett and Marylean Staton Bennett; and two sisters: Vera Bennett and Trentha Barrett.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Melissa Sutton Bennett; eight children: Tonya Cox, Derrick Cox, Rogrick Bennett, Robert Bennett, Dynesha Knotts, Mikayla Willoughby, Maniyon Bennett and Demarion Willoughby; six grandchildren: Desarare Cox, Kedrick Cox, Kingston Cox, Jordan Bennett, Tyrone Bennett and Robert Bennett; one great grand, Da’Zariha Cox; six siblings: Theresa B. Livington (Pierre), James Edward Bennett (Katrina), Malcom Lee Bennett (Sheritha), Ricky Lee Staton, Charles Lee Bennett and Lewis Everett; four brothers-in-law; four aunts; two great aunts; one uncle; and a host of other family and friends.
